Front: Photograph of honey bee foraging on goldenrod flowers. I took the photograph and printed it with photographic ink on glossy photo cardstock.
Back: The western honey bee or European honey bee (Apis mellifera) is native to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It was introduced to North America in the 1600s and has naturalized throughout the continent. According to the National Honey Board, honey bees must visit an average of two million flowers to make a pound of honey and a single worker honey bee will only make approximately 1/12 tsp of honey in her entire life. ©2019 Shannon Trimboli, All Rights Reserved www.shannontrimboli.com
