Description
Front: Photograph of monarch butterfly on a cup plant flower. I took the photograph and printed it with photographic ink on glossy photo cardstock.
Back: Monarchs (Danaus plexippus) are probably one of our most recognized and popular species of butterflies. The U.S. has two populations of monarch butterflies – an eastern and a western population. The western population migrates to southern California for the winter. The eastern population migrates to Mexico for the winter. Adult monarchs will drink nectar from a wide variety of flowers; however, monarch caterpillars can only eat plants in the milkweed family. ©2019 Shannon Trimboli, All Rights Reserved www.shannontrimboli.com
